Having inline images opens the board up to potential abuse from people posting massive
images. To stop this, your browser will load the images once then if they're over
700 pixels they will be hidden and you will see a link to the image instead.

Not exactly. After you make a post, the reply page will take you back to the main board like
you'd expect BUT if you go to the reply page from a single thread or single post
then you'll be returned to that thread after you've posted.
This is to make it easier to follow one thread. And if someone starts a new thread
while you think you're following the top thread then the menu bar will change
from this:
to this, with a "Next Thread" link:
So yeah, it works like /talk should work.

you're stupid and/or lazy then you can just type http://www.bolllocks.com/goatse.jpg
and that'll do the same thing.
If you get a message saying you can't upload images then you'll need to host them
somewhere else, do not whine to Frank about it, it's because you've not been given permission
to upload to the site.
